Synopsis

This will be the fourth edition of the conference series, following its inaugural edition in Taipei, Taiwan in 2012, the second edition in Pohang, Korea in 2013, and the most recent third edition in Shanghai, China in 2014. The aim of this conference is to bring together researchers from different research fields (physics, economics, finance, mathematics, engineering, …) to review recent results, exchange ideas and methods and to confront common problems linking social, physical, and mathematical sciences in a friendly and open-minded environment. In particular, for the Asia-Pacific Econophysics Conference 2015, we will focus on the theme “Innovation, Inequality, and the Economics of Ageing”.

We seek interdisciplinary inputs to the problems of:

  1. How to make and keep an economy innovative.
  2. What are the root causes of socio-economic inequality and how do we deal with it.
  3. What are the economic challenges of ageing populations. We aim to consider these problems from both the data and model points of views. We welcome participants from within and outside the Asia-Pacific region.
