Workshop: Towards Large Multiscale Simulations of Complex Socio-Economic Systems with Heterogeneous Interacting Agents

Date: 18 – 19 November 2013

Venue: School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Lecture Theatre 3 & 4, Level 3

Address: 21 Nanyang Link, Singapore 637371

About the Workshop

The aim of this workshop is to bring together experts from the problem areas (economics and sociology) and experts from the methods area (parallel/distributed computing, multiscale simulations) to see how we can make progress towards an eventual goal of true multiscale simulations. In such simulations, our vision is to have agents make decisions at the individual level, and let these decisions drive the formation of institutions and norms. Collective decisions made at this higher level would later impact decision making at the individual level
